Xpost from the homeschool IG: Dorothy read a book today! I knew she was close. She was anxious at the beginning of the year and knew all the letter sounds but couldn't blend them together. I dropped all instruction and just let her be. She reads every night with her daddy @mrgleeson and plays letter games, and she has been adding lots of invented spelling to her drawings. So today I asked her to read a Starfall book and she did, surprising herself! (She's showing me her St Francis/St Anthony necklace she got for St Nicholas Day in the photo)
