About me
I’m Phoebe. I’ve been blogging since 2003, somewhere. You’re here because you want to know About Me in a condensed form. OK!
I was born in 1974. My memory begins with things like Donna Summer’s MacArthur Park, the tail end of the Carter Administration, and M* A* S* H. I learned to read at some point and my childhood and adolescence were filled with books and books and books. A Wrinkle in Time, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. The Adventures of the Great Brain. Encyclopedia Brown. The Phantom Tollbooth. The Dark is Rising. Nine Stories. I, Robot. At some point I stopped paying much attention to what they were trying to tell me in school and focused only on my own thoughts. I outright failed eigth grade but was sent on to high school anyway. I think they hoped it would take better.
It did not.
I left school the day after my sixteenth birthday, spent the summer kissing boys, reading science fiction and writing bad poetry. There was also quite a lot of listening to the Police and David Bowie at that time. I got a job at a bookstore that fall and futzed around for a year or two until I decided to give college a shot. It took better than previous attempts and I majored in Philosophy.
I tired of it eventually (well, I tired of being poor) and got a job. I had a no-count but essentially good boy in my life for much of this time, but we parted eventually. Shortly after that, I met Sean, my husband, and we were married on the spot.
We have four daughters and two sons, born 2000-2008, and we homeschool them all. Our oldest son is autistic and the other kids are not. I’m still poor, and I’m usually really tired and distracted, but I’m shockingly happy most of the time.
Life is good.

I just saw this. It's delightful! I feel all fuzzy.
